1. Insert Token

Plug your USB Token into a standard USB port on your Windows, macOS, or Linux computer.

2. Driver Install

For auto-run tokens, double-click the prompt. Or download the driver setup files from our support dashboard.

3. Change PIN

Open the token utility software (e.g. ePass2003 Manager) and immediately change the default PIN for security.

4. Start Signing

Your DSC is now ready. Select your certificate when prompted by GST, ITR, or Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Per the guidelines issued by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) in India, all Digital Signature Certificates (Class 3, DGFT) must be stored in hardware cryptographic tokens certified to FIPS 140-2 Level 3. This certification ensures that the token provides physical tamper-evident security, secure key generation, and that private keys cannot be extracted, copied, or exported from the hardware.

For security reasons, if you enter an incorrect user PIN 15 times consecutively, the USB token will lock automatically to prevent brute-force attacks. A locked token must be unblocked using the Administrator PIN (Admin PIN) through the token utility software. If the Admin PIN is also lost or locked, the token is permanently bricked and must be replaced.

Yes, our FIPS tokens (64KB and 80KB memory capacity) can store multiple certificates. Typically, an ePass2003 Auto or Mantra ProxKey can store between 7 and 10 certificates, while the WatchData WD PRO can store up to 12. This allows you to have a Signature certificate, an Encryption certificate, and multiple organizational/personal certificates on a single hardware token.

Yes. All three brands we offer (ePass2003, WatchData, and ProxKey) are fully compatible with Windows (7, 8, 10, 11), Apple macOS (using appropriate PKCS#11 drivers/token middleware), and mainstream Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, BOSS Linux, CentOS) for digital signature applications.

New tokens are dispatched with default user PINs depending on the brand (e.g. 12345678 for ePass2003, 12345678 for ProxKey, etc.). We strongly advise all clients to open the token administration software and change their User PIN immediately upon receipt to protect their digital identity.
